  1. the work looks well done, nice cut and clean spray.
But I am not fan of stencils which are promoting something famous to sell (enough billboard in our surrouding...).
So my favorite are obey and tribal design.
    don't stop

  2. so G, you like his work eh!!i agree that we already have enough billboard [like i ever like it] but i've been told by him that this piece is done 2 or 3 years ago, he probably just started to fall in love with stencils by that time! so i guess, cutting a stencils from what you see from your surrounding is normal thing to happen! i beg he'll get more creative when he is able to see things beyond his surrounding. beyond the box he is living in! it is great to hear you comment in hear. im also trying to make this blog "readable" to non local... hope to hear more of you and my friends out there after that!

    enjoy!

  4. alo komrads,

Tx a lot for the feedback. Really appreciate it!!

yup, fc is right. i and my friend did those a few years back when we started getting into this stuff. But somehow between life, job, etc.(u know, the so-called normal mortal living in the system...hehe) never get the chance to do 'something outside the box' like what fc stated above.

maybe can start fresh this time around. tx again for the shout!!

  6. My point of view about erasing someoneelse work:
It depend of what is the meaning of a grafiti.
to write or paint something in public space is itself a political action (event there is no meaning). In this way, all "street artist" are in the same basket.

from this, you can have the simple name (can be very well done but a bit egocentrik ;-) ), the "political" message (can be other than politic > ex: go vegan)to touch people, or a "art message" (before this wall was empty, now you see a flower > distract and make people smiling, questioning about their surrounding...)

To erase someone else work, you have to be egocentric to say by your action "my work is better than yours on this wall". In this case, you are an idiot because if you want to challenge someone else > go better, bigger and find more difficult place to paint. It is the only way to be reconize and respected by the other.

The name for destroy another artist's work is a "toy". a toyer will never be respected by other people involved in art.

When all the wall in your city will be painted (and it is not for tomorrow) - you will still find outdoor place to express yourself with respect to other.
(if you don't care about respect, explain your act)

    G

For me, the only understandable possibility to erase a work is when you're not agree with the message (If I see a "go racist" artwork, can be sure It will be not there too long...)

ps: what is the blog of those kids making wheatpaste?

  7. i really dont get it lah, this act of 'street art-ing' on top of an already
    existing one.
we have plenty of space round.. for everybody!
why on top of other people's work??
    isk..isk..

  8. onanimos!
i'm thinking of naming u with brand new name onanimost! sound meaningful!
btw, thanx for bringing out this issue. around end of last years, i received many emails asking me bout the group KAMI. read my entries under the title ~ Stencil Resistance - Dalam Kenangan. it is about my group before fcode were form. for now stencil resitance is no more around except for me that still resisting using the same method for the past years! as you can see, the stencil image were covered with wheat paste done by someone unknown to me, just as unknown as this group named KAMI who paste their stickers on someone else artwork! but it has become as "unwriten law" of street art people that no one should put their work on someone elses work! if thing like this happen somewhere else, "war" already been declared towards this group KAMI! but i'm not another street thug who love gang wars and such, so i prefer and hope that the group stop what their doing peacefully. but like i said! i didnt know this people, so anyone who knows anybody from KAMI, could probably help sort this out. some one gave me their myspace add...but sorry that i could'nt help, i have no myspace!

i agree with both G and perverdz. in addition, wall is not the only place to put your street art, it could be on the TNB boxes, lamp posts, billboards and many more. And the medium itself is the message.

a graffiti that carries racist shit is of course something that i hate to see, but instead of painting on top of it why dont we do beside it, let our anti-racist graff do the job..... educate!
i'm 100% sure that any street artist will return back to the place where he or she put their work! if we paint over their racist artwork.... then they might never learn, but if we did some anti-racist thing beside, infront or anywhere near their piece, they might learn that being racist and bring it on the streetart world is sucks!

  9. when i first read bout G opinion about racist graff should be paint over, i have nothing else to say just to agree with it... then i go through Perverdz, and our host Mr fc. i finally had to agree with fc that we did'nt help this racist writer[if there is any out there] if we just go paint over their racist graff. me my self a writer, typical writer doing tagging and throwup! and fc right that any writer would return back to the place where they once write! i revisit my spot many time just to see if it is still there, beside of trying to admire my own works. and even if the racist writer didnt came back to his or her hit spot, someone else might seen the message there, instead of paint it over, we help spreading anti-racist messages towards broader audiences! correct me if im wrong!
    thanx

hey fc! r u seriously think that im gonna use that name!

  10. ok guys,
about bad message on the wall, agree with you, more explicit to "answer" and make the meaning upside down. I thinked about MASS political (for election)stickers in my home town, I used to change the meaning but sometime I took them off, to much...
(so it was not a "artwort" at all)
