Assalamualaikum fcode!
Saya minat ngan work awak tapi naper lately awak tak post work sendiri.
Saya faham niat awak nak share the blog as a platform tuk other artists to display or sharing work dorang.... tapi bagus kalau work awak pun ada sama. Paling bosan bila work dorang tu tak nampak original langsung! Ada aje artist lain yg mereka tiru.... dan saya yakin even work awak pun ada yg di tiru orang lain!...., yucks!!
Saya nengok ada yg tiru obey giant ngan banksy, takde idea sgt dah ke? Tapi yg gambar cameraman tu mmg smart giler la!
neeway, gud lak to you!

The above email send to me by someone that totally unknown. This person talked about how most stencils graff in this blog send in by peoples, had no originality. Copying other well-known "artist" like Shepard(Obey Giant) and Banksy. Well, I'm bored with this originality issue. The fact is, I also copy lot of other's work.... more like helping them in spreading their "content" to me. Helping other vandal's out there to made their stencils became more massive by cutting and spraying their stencils. So the "yucks" also goes to me... rite!. But that's me... i don't care bout being an "ARTIST"......., im a vandal! what did you expect me to do! So "PEOPLE OF THE STREET", hope you all can fill-up this "sleeping" person with something!

BTW: I attached my early days work up there. I did that Obey Robot somewhere in 2000. I got that image from Shepard Fairey(Obey Giant) website and the "PATUH" piece in early 90's. Being honest with you all, i get the image from punk zine(forgot the name) and coincidentally it also means OBEY. In that year, i still did'nt know anything bout Obey Giant as there is still no internet by then. The old beggar also taken from a punk zine and the Guantanamo prisoner from Banksy work. Thanx to Chi for still keeping the "hard copy" of Obey Robot and PATUH stencils.

  1. Hey! anytime dear.
still have some other picture of your work with me. i'll scan it and send it to you.
bout these issue, maybe s/he try to say that peoples who send their work to this blog should be more creative instead of just copying others. yea!!! you did copy other's..... but in your early days! and you also improvised the image that you copy. so my point.... it's ok to copy or better recycle by improvising the work.

but still s/he sucks.... the way s/he say "yucks" made me puke!

"Paling "bosan" bila work dorang tu tak nampak original langsung! Ada aje artist lain yg mereka tiru.... dan saya yakin even work awak pun ada yg di tiru orang lain!...., yucks!!"
From her sentence above, she must be "bosan" type of person!

  2. i bet this person is a girl..... the way she write so much like a girl!

agree with chi(change your nick ma!)that perhaps we need to improvised things that we copy. soon or later we'll get our own style!

even banksy admit's that; “Every time I think I’ve painted something slightly original I find out that Blek le Rat has done it as well. Only twenty years earlier.” So even banksy copy some elses! and who knows who did blek le rat had copied before..... but it's pointless to talked bout originality in street art scene!

  3. i must say that i disagree with you onanimost when you actually judging this fella as a girl based on writing. as a matter of fact.... his a guy! sound kind of sexist....you probably trying to say that only girls write something stupid like that.... if so, i must say you're wrong and disagree with it!
    you write this:-
"the way she write so much like a girl!"
    i wrote this:-
"the way you write so much like a sexist person!"

  8. Hi everyone! my name syamil... the one who send the above email to fcode.
i still think that every artist should have their own stail or trademark, not something that they copy from someone famous. if fcode also copy some elses work i really think that you should start seeking your own stail. i could see that you are talented... you even good at making your short movie! people loves it. but soon people would be bored of your same stail that didn't evolves.
you say that is plenty of empty wall! so why should anyone put their graffiti on someone elses work.... the same with there is plenty of ways or stails, why copy????

  9. He is an artist.... i puke again after reading it my dear randal.

i bet he did'nt read your entry up there that by copying some other artist works, it help the content been spread out to a larger audiences.
plus the process of evolution didn't take a minute... gives this people some time laa!!
i love to rewrite what onani-most said above that even banksy admit that he also did a lot of work that done before by other artist like blek le rat.

  10. thnx syamil for showing up! sorry that i took so long to comment on this issue. i do hope tha everyone else can have a good discussion here. chi, dont puke again please! you're not pregnant aren't you? and where the hell my favourite guy go ha??? onanimost? you mad at me ka?

    syamil,
i'm must say that i'm flatterd when you say you love that movie.... ilove it too. and the stail...., it is something that i never thought so much about! we are punks... vandals we do our stuff on the street. what ever you see out there is the most creative one we could done on the street. not to be arrogant, but i can do something beautiful on the street, my own stail, lots of color and even DBKL wont paint it over! but what's the point? we are not artist, we are people making statement! and that is the thing that we want to deliver to the people out there!
you cant compare stencil and freestyle graff.... they can do it 'freely'. but we here using stencils. as long as we using it, it will look pretty much the same. but the content most of the time is different. again here i just stress it out to you thet the content is what we want to share, not only the 'art'

    thnx

  12. hi howzzit goin guys?

im a graff writer myself. reading through ur blog, i realized that u strongly emphasized on the importance of thinking from outside the box as well as using the theme with your work.

i respect that u admit using other people's work but i reckon u should improve on your own style bro in accordance to what u believe which is think from outside the box.

i believe that a lame form couldnt deliver their content the most contrary to a fresh interesting new form of style. i reckon that in order for people to perceive ur content as u want it is to create ur own form n style that could mark ur existence in the world of punks as u called it.

one more thing, stencil n freestyle graff could be use as a mixed-media in ur work. thats why they dont call it graff artist as u mentioned, they call it graff writers.

cheers, take it easy keep up the good work guys.

    salam,
    aerosold

  13. the phrase think from outside the box meant more than just that!

what i say works for me.... and for those who up for originality should stick to it... i'll respect that.... but you dont have to "yucks" others.
beside im more into situationist... detournement..... i love spoofing.
two diff people who cut two diff stencils with the same design will produce two diff stencils.... get what i mean?

i used inverted comma(") whenever i used the words artists..... dont you get it? hehehe..... i never used artist to describe graff writer.... in fact i used vandal in which some graff writer couldnt accept it themselves!

    btw... thanks!
